Goodbye 2005

Well, 2005 was an eventful year for KLAD Cockers. I bred my first litter, and I also found a home for the dam of the litter, Keeley. So a high and a low, almost all at once. But Keeley has a great home now with her new mum and dad, Sandra and Rick, and also with her new Cocker Spaniel brother Charlie. And Bilbo (the puppy from hell) is on path to be a nice show prospect for KLAD Cockers in 2006. Maybe he will be the first champion carrying my kennel name!

Farley (Ch Silverwood's Northern Light Am Can CD, CGC) is officially retired from the show and obedience ring, until Rally-O becomes an official titling sport with the Canadian Kennel Club. With his bad knees, he just can't handle the jumping anymore, and his gait isn't what it used to be. Doesn't matter - he's happy to stay home and snooze on the couch, cuddled up with his brother Quigley.

Quigley (Cokijo's Mister Quigley, CGC) is also retired, this time from therapy work. At the age of almost 1o, the visits just wear him out too much now. He is starting to show his age, so sitting on the couch is more than enough excitement for him.

And me? I will continue working full-time AND going to school to earn my Master's degree. That should keep me MORE than busy in 2006! Id' really like to get back into the habit of going to the gym, since I did well this fall, and I'd like to work on training Bilbo so he stops being the puppy from hell LOL

It'll be interesting to look back in a few months and see how badly I've fallen off the resolution bandwagon
